Name: Skylar Martin
Birthday: February 18, 1989
Why they’re at the house: Penelope and her antics.
How long they’ve been there: Two years
Quote or Lyric: How can you just leave me standing? Alone in a world that's so cold? Maybe I'm just too demanding, maybe I'm just like my father too bold. Maybe you're just like my mother, she's never satisfied. Why do we scream at each other? This is what it sounds like when doves cry. (When Doves Cry – Prince)
Occupation: Cashier at a record store/Struggling fashion designer
Bio: Skylar is the overly annoying stalker of a best friend that a girl can have. If he likes you, he'll devote his life for you. Unless you like stuckup rich kids. If that's the case, then he'll act like he doesn't care when on the inside, he's dying. And just like that, Skylar found himself travelling to Perth, to follow Penelope and her antics. That is, until she fell in love and decided it was the best if she eloped with her boyfriend, Declan. Now Skylar's juggling with a job in a record store that no one but hipsters seem to visit and a struggling career as a fashion designer. After struggling to pay rent, he found the Boarding House. Two years in, Skylar actually feels at home and doesn't have any plans to go back to Illinois. As for Penelope? There's rumors of a divorce, but Skylar doesn't seem to care anymore, or so he tells himself.
Talent/Goal: Skylar's a good fashion designer but no one seems to like his clothes because they're not appropriate for street wear. The goal would be to make Penelope see what a great guy he is, but since that's not going to happen he'll settle with being an acclaimed fashion designer.
Relationship Status: Single

“Does this dress makes me look fat?” Penelope asked, looking at herself in the mirror, sucking in her stomach. I didn't get why she always did that. She looked great to me.
“You look perfect.” I said, “You could never look too fat.”
“You're my best gay friend.” She squealed. I was used of having her call me that. I had even accepted the fact that she was never going to notice me as any other than her best friend. I was also the guy that always got her out of trouble. “We should go.” Penelope added. We were going to a club, our first here in Perth.
“Of course, Penny.” I nodded, opening the door for her. She walked out of the room, locating her purse and snatching it off the bed.
“Found it.” She said, pointing at the bag. “If not, you would've had to pay.” She giggled.
“I would have paid for you anyways.” I point out.
“That's nice of you, Sky.” Thinking about it... Maybe the name Skylar wasn't helping me much. I was a theatre kid and I had impeccable fashion sense. Girls never seem to believe that a guy can have great style and be straight. It's even worse if you're the nice guy and you have a unisex name.
“Oh my God, Sky. Can you believe this place is real?” Penelope said, gasping at the sight. It was a decent place but not really my style.
We sat at the bar, just as I was ordering drinks for the two of us, the bartender motioned a drink towards Penelope.
“For you. The guy on the left side of the bar paid it.” He said looking bored. I glanced over and noticed that it was one of those spoiled rich kids. The type that will drive around in a Rolls Royce and wears two gold watches instead of one.
“He's cute!” Penelope squealed, “What do I do?” She asked nervously.
“Go and talk to him, I guess.” I said, poking at my drink.
She did. Hours passed and Penny never came back. I decided to go back to the hotel and sleep early.
It's up. If anyone can guess who Skylar is based off, you get a cyber-cookie.
P.S. The clothes in this set don't make him justice.
